Distilling over 15 years' experience devising customized yoga classes and yoga+arts workshops for children and adults, Jenny Sheffer Stevens developed a distinctive teaching style—spirited practices that challenge and nurture the body, spark the imagination, and help people find a free and authentic way to move. She's taught variations of her signature program to actors, writers, dancers, producers, designers, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and more, in a wide variety of venues, including full semesters within a conservatory, as a guest teaching artist in undergrad programs, at a prestigious literary festival, in corporate settings, on private retreats, and in individual sessions. Jenny has a longstanding commitment to outreach—creative empowerment of young people, especially girls—and has devoted significant time to pro-bono work with children, leading yoga+arts classes within diverse New York City and Los Angeles public schools. She holds a BA in English Literature, MFA in Acting, and multiple yoga teaching certifications; she's a freelance writer and essayist, and a two-time recipient of the Lincoln City Fellowship, a generous grant from the Speranza Foundation, for her integrative work in writing, arts education, yoga, and women’s initiatives; she currently serves on the Lincoln City Fellowship Creative Council, leading movement and artistic wellness workshops for the 2021 cohort of fellows.
